  • “I started having a lot of trouble while walking about 1 1/2 years ago. I made a call to Southern Indiana Orthopedics recommended to me by my daughter, and an appointment was made with Dr. Lovell.  He has been very understanding of what I needed and treated me with respect. The first six months were a little trying going through the rehab, but Dr. Lovell made me understand how important the exercise was to improve my recovery. He said it would take a full year and he was right, I couldn't have asked for better treatment. Hoping I don't have to go through it again, but if I do Dr. Lovell will be my choice.”

  • “I went into surgery with a bad wrist fracture. Never once did I doubt the skill of Dr. Guse. He assured me it was possible to put the pieces back where they were originally and made me feel at ease. I have no problems or any visible signs of my injury. A big thank you to Dr. Cary Guse.”

  • “I am a paraplegic that broke my femur and I was really concerned that my doctor had any experience treating paraplegics with similar injury but I was pleasantly surprised that he had treated a girl paraplegic with exact same break in leg. So I was really impressed with his diagnosis and plan for recovery including no surgery.”

  • “Tore cartilage in right knee and needed a scope. I am an avid runner and biker so someone recommended Dr. Guse and he was fantastic. Understood all my needs and made me feel very comfortable about a full recovery. I run and bike over 30 miles every week and have done so since about a month after surgery.”

  • “My husband and I have both had recent surgeries by Dr. Lovell. He is professional, honest and very knowledgeable. More importantly, I have complete confidence in his diagnosis and treatment options. My family (going back to my parents in the early 70's) have always used Southern Indiana Orthopedics for this type of medical care. In my opinion, there is no other choice. This team has always been a leader in the field of orthopedics and will always be our choice.”

  • “I had knee replacement around May 13th. Therepy was great. I did two weeks of it and things started to get better so I continued therepy at home. Well here it is July 27th and I'm walking a brisk 45 minutes every day with no discomfort, plus some other physical exercise. I have lost 30 plus pounds. The doctor explained it all well and healing went like he said.”

  • “I had a torn ACL, torn meniscus, and torn MCL. I received this injury while playing basketball. I was running down the court at a fast pace with the ball, leaped into the air, came down hard onto my feet, and pushed off to the right as my leg contacted the court. A defender was positioned directly in front of me, which is why I pushed off to the right to jump away from him to get a shot off. I felt a pop and knew immediately that I had injured something. I did not experience a lot of pain, but my knee was very unstable and felt very peculiar. I went to Dr. Guse and found out the bad news. I am a top-notch athlete and already have a full ride commitment from Wright State University, a D1 college. I was very nervous about my future. My scholarship is for baseball. Dr. Guse operated on me December 11, 2013.  Dr. Guse showed us pictures of everything he did before and after the repairs. He did an excellent job. My rehab went very well, and I was able to play baseball in the spring of 2014, just four months after surgery. I was a little timid and everyone was being over cautious with me. I did not have a great season, but constantly improved by the end of the season. Six months after surgery, I was at about 95%, and did get honorable mention from the Columbus paper for the All Area Baseball Team. My summer ball team, which is comprised of mostly college baseball players, did very well. Likewise, I did very well, batting in the mid to upper 300's, and pitched some very good games. Wright State has been very supportive, and is working hand in hand with my high school. I feel I am at 100% now, and am very excited about my future college career and or pro career. Thank you very much, Dr. Guse, and all those who assisted you.”

  • “I'm 53 and love to play ultimate Frisbee. About 5-6 years ago, after enduring reduced range of motion and pain in both shoulders for 15-20 years, I tried to throw the Frisbee with my right hand and could not due to shoulder weakness. I went through physical therapy and cortisone shots, but the shoulder was unresponsive. Dr. Guse repaired the rotator cuff, cleaned up the joint a bit, and after a fairly long rehab, the shoulder was fixed. After a couple of years, it was back to full strength. Then I noticed I was having pretty severe pain and reduced range of motion in my left shoulder. Again, I went through physical therapy and cortisone shots, but the shoulder was unresponsive. This time the diagnosis was different. It was a SLAP tear. This is a bone spur and something else I forget, but again, Dr. Guse repaired it. For this surgery, the recovery was miraculous. I was ready to play Frisbee six months later. Today, six years from my first surgery, both my shoulders feel great! I am playing ultimate with full confidence and strength. Please do not be misled. The post-surgical recovery is hard and sometimes painful work. I was highly motivated and maintained the rehab discipline. I listened to the staff and Dr. Guse on recovery protocol and limits. Even then, I'm told my results were unusually positive. I am thankful to have had Dr. Guse as my surgeon and also to the staff of the CRH Rehab facility, adjacent Dr. Guse's office.”

  • “I see both Dr. Federle and Dr. Lanham. I recently had both a knee replacement and carpal tunnel surgery performed by Dr. Federle. I was very impressed with both him and the facilities where the surgeries were done. The hospital in particular did an awesome job on their orthopedic unit. I would highly recommend Dr. Federle for any orthopedic needs. He is careful, comprehensive, and easy to talk to. I see Dr. Lanham regularly for diabetic foot care. She is gentle and thorough. She is very kind and a good listener. My son also sees her, and we have been very pleased with her care.”
