Dr. Darryl A. Tannenbaum is an honors graduate of the Harvard Medical School. Born and raised in a town of 3,000 in upstate New York, Dr. Tannenbaum was the first from his community to attend Harvard College. During medical school, he was awarded a fellowship in orthopedic research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his five-year orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Trained in the broad field of orthopedics, Dr. Tannenbaum has become one of the first in the Midwest to learn a cutting edge technique for minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Tannenbaum travels nationwide for continued medical education in the field of orthopedics, as well as giving lectures at national conferences himself.
When Dr. Tannenbaum is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and running marathons.
In addition to offering traditional hip replacements, Dr. Tannenbaum is certified to perform anterior hip replacement surgery for patients who meet specific criteria. Given the precision necessary to perform this surgery, Dr. Tannenbaum has completed extensive training in the use of a specialized anterior hip surgical table and anterior surgical technique. An innovative, less invasive procedure, the anterior approach minimizes both pain and recovery time for patients.
For patients suffering from soft tissue injuries that have not responded to other treatments, Dr. Tannenbaum offers the latest nonsurgical treatment options, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injection therapy to repair your injuries through natural healing processes.
