Dr. Lovell joined Southern Indiana Orthopedics in August 2013. With expertise in all areas of surgical and nonsurgical treatment for orthopedic injuries and conditions, Dr. Lovell is dedicated to providing expert bone, joint, and muscle care to area patients.
Dr. Lovell graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he participated in two research fellowships. He received general surgery training through an internship at Iowa Methodist Medical Center before completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Southern Illinois University.
Dr. Lovell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
In addition to offering traditional hip replacements, Dr. Lovell is certified to perform anterior hip replacement surgery for patients who meet specific criteria. Given the precision necessary to perform this surgery, Dr. Lovell has completed extensive training in the use of a specialized anterior hip surgical table and anterior surgical technique. An innovative, less invasive procedure, the anterior approach minimizes both pain and recovery time for patients.
