Dr. Lovell is a specialist in orthopedic surgery, treating patients in Columbus, Seymour, and North Vernon. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder. Dr. Lovell offers advanced surgical techniques that allow his patients to get back to the activities that they enjoy as fast as possible. Dr. Lovell avoids the use of surgical staples or sutures that have to be removed, allowing for a smaller scar and improved patient satisfaction.

Dr. Lovell attended medical school at the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine. While there, he was awarded the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship. He completed five years of orthopedic surgery residency training at Southern Illinois University and was a chief resident his final year. Dr. Lovell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been with Southern Indiana Orthopedics since 2013. He enjoys minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, shoulder arthroscopy, and hand surgery. He has performed over 1000 hip, knee, and shoulder replacement procedures.
