Boxers Fracture

A fracture of the long bone that connects the little finger to the wrist may be called a boxers fracture. The most common cause of this injury is direct impact of the hand with a hard or immovable object. Generally, the associated symptoms are:

  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Deformity,
  • Lack of movement.

X-rays may be needed to determine whether you are suffering from a boxers fracture.
Treatment may vary depending on the severity of the injury.  Your doctor may recommend home-care, surgery, medications or rehabilitation for anyone suffering from a boxers fracture.
